YOMICHI LOCALS
While most people within the city proper died when the paladins of the Tower of Light attacked Yomichi, many tens of thousands of people lived around in smaller towns and settlements, making up the first of the twelve provinces of Yume. These people have gathered to Yomichi in the days and weeks following the fall of Akumu. They watched as the land turned to a roiling sea as the countless undead of Akumu rose to fight off the advancing paladins of the Tower of Light and have many fantastical tales to tell of that day.
TOWER OF LIGHT
The Tower of Light is a semi-religious organization. They don't worship a particular deity, rather preferring to avoid such arguments over which deity of Good is better. Instead they encourage all to do Good, in whatever manner they may, regardless of any deific worship involved. The organization was first established some centuries ago, but only rose in prominence within the last few decades. Though initially more service oriented, the modern Tower of Light has become more of a militaristic organization. It's said that it was an army of thousands of paladins from the Tower of Light who assaulted Yomichi and cast down Akumu. Though none of those paladins seem to have survived and so now the Tower of Light has a slight shortage of warriors. Currently they are sending groups into the ruins in search of relics, tomes of lore, and the bodies of the dead paladins who were part of the assault on Yomichi.
SAGES OF THE MERCURIAL ROBE
The Sages of the Mercurial Robe established themselves in the North of Yume several centuries ago. In their early years they focused on Necromancy and there was some rivalry between them and Akumu but Akumu's power so vastly outstripped their own that they were cowed before too long. Since then, they have turned away from their focus on Necromancy and are now a more diversified collective of wizards. Like many places of magical learning, they guard their secrets and are selective with who they allow into their confidences. However, many hopeful acolytes gather to Yomichi with the goal of pleasing the Sages with their services as they plunder Yomichi for them.
SHINRAI
Shinrai was the primary trade partner of Yume and since its fall, they have become most interested in the ruined city of Yomichi. Whether their interests extend beyond just the city is yet to be seen. Shinrai itself is governed by a collection of monastic orders who spend as much time politicking among themselves as they do meditating and training. So far, the majority of their envoys into the city have been comprised of hired mercenaries, or else led by local guides. In all cases, what or if they have found anything is unknown, let alone what exactly it is that they are searching for. The only thing that is known for sure is that they are searching the city methodically.
